Implant-Supported Prostheses
Implant-supported prostheses are fixed or removable dental restorations supported by implants.
Options are assessed according to the structure of the mouth and individual needs. Contact our clinic for information about suitability and the service.
What is an implant-supported prosthesis?
These are restorations made to replace missing teeth with support from implants. They may be planned as a single-tooth crown, a bridge replacing several teeth or a full-arch prosthesis.
Fixed and removable options
Fixed restorations are not removed by the patient; removable implant-supported prostheses can be taken out for care. The appropriate option depends on the number of implants, oral anatomy and care needs.
Preparation and fit
The clinician assesses the condition of the implants and surrounding tissues. An impression or scan, fabrication, fitting and checks may form part of the plan.
Cleaning and check-ups
Use the methods recommended by your clinician to clean around implants, beneath the prosthesis and around attachments. Request a check-up if there is movement, breakage, pain or anything that makes cleaning difficult.
Frequently asked questions
Can I remove my prosthesis myself?
That depends on the prosthesis design. Fixed and removable options have different care requirements.
How is the appropriate option determined?
Your needs, existing implants and alternatives are assessed during the clinical examination. Contact the clinic for the scope of this service.
